Linked Data for Individuals & Families
We have to add some text here to explain again about solving Somerset, with outreach to surrounding counties and some attention to the rest of the Maryland colony . . . and that pesky Virginia colony, too. How best to explain what we’re trying to do? We have so much information: a little about a whole lot of people, and a whole lot about quite a number of people. How many? Well . . . our genealogical ‘tree’ has more than 15,000 individuals.
So our goal here is to let the world know what we know. We want to share the little bits of information we have about thousands of people, in as coherent and organized a way as possible. This will take time to build out, but for starters we’re just going to dive in and see where it goes.
Individual Histories
to be followed by an alphabet ~ or maybe two, one for surnames and one for given names because we are including as many people as possible
Family Histories
also to be followed by an alphabet, but probably just one on this side ’cause it only makes sense to do surnames
We haven’t quite figured out a structure for family histories yet. Something pretty simple, to give an overview of what we know about family connections, but not going too far into the weeds of speculation.
For the moment we are just going to link an old blog post about the Day family (a little something to whet the appetite).
